How To Join

ACRA membership is open to any organisation that carries out business as a Trust and Company Service Provider. This primarily includes company formation agents and providers of company secretarial services.

There are a few simple criteria. Members must be able to answer “yes” to all the following questions:
  • Do you carry out the services of a TCSP?
  • Is the business registered as a TCSP with HMRC in respect of Anti-Money Laundering Regulations?
  • Have all relevant persons within the business passed the Fit & Proper Test as determined by Anti-Money Laundering Regulations?
  • Does the business have a minimum of £1m Professional Indemnity Insurance that covers all of its TCSP activities?
If you are satisfied that you meet the above criteria, please click on the link below to open the application form which should be then submitted as indicated. Once received, your application will be considered by the Board, and when approved your membership will be formally confirmed as soon as your membership fee is received.

Membership of ACRA costs £500 per annum and is renewable in October each year. New members joining at other times of the year will be charged pro-rata for the remainder of the period applicable at the date of approval.

Membership Benefits

Having joined ACRA, members can access a range of documents, which include industry-specific recommended guidance on Anti-Money Laundering Regulations 2007, and downloads of minutes of recent ACRA Board meetings and general meetings.

During the year we hold a number of meetings. The Board meets regularly throughout the year, and minutes of Board meetings are made available to members. In addition, we hold several general members meetings each year at which all members are able to voice opinions and hold discussions with other members on a wide range of subjects. We also organise a more friendly social event once a year to which we invite key personalities such as the Registrar of Companies and senior Companies House personnel.

ACRA has been successful in a range of issues that we have pursued with various Governmental departments over a period of time. An example of this is ACRA’s direct involvement in drafting industry specific guidance on Anti-Money Laundering Regulations.
